KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 (Bernama) - Registration for the National Innovation and Commercialisation Expo (NICE) 2026 is now open to the public, researchers and industry players. The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) said NICE 2026, jointly organised with the Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI), will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from Aug 26-28.
Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk Chang Lih Kang said NICE 2026 supports the government's efforts to ensure the country's capabilities in science, technology and innovation are translated into measurable economic and social outcomes.
"Malaysia has the talent, technology and innovation to compete on the global stage, and our priority is to ensure that more local research and innovations are able to grow beyond the country" he said in a statement today. According to MOSTI, NICE 2026 continues the legacy of Malaysia Commercialisation Year (MCY initiative, which has supported the commercialisation of 761 innovations and generated over RM1.14 billion in commercial revenue, while strengthening links between innovators, industry, investors and the market. Meanwhile, MRANTI chief executive officer Ashran Ghazi said NICE was established to connect innovation with opportunities through strategic partnerships, commercialisation and market access.
"NICE is not merely an expo but a platform that connects innovation with actual opportunities, from the laboratory to the marketplace and from Malaysia to the world," he said. The three-day expo is expected to bring together over 50 industry experts, policymakers, investors and technology practitioners, while showcasing over 180 innovations and technologies from various strategic sectors, including Advanced & Future Industries, HealthTech, Bioeconomy, DeepTech, Commercialisation and Market Access. MOSTI invites researchers, technology entrepreneurs, start-ups, industry players, investors, students and the public to participate in NICE 2026, with registration now open via the event's official website at nice.mosti.gov.my.
