SHAH ALAM – Registration is officially open for the National Innovation & Commercialisation Expo (Nice) 2026, a premier national platform designed to connect local researchers and innovators with industry leaders, investors and international market opportunities.
Organised by the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (Mosti) with the Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (Mranti) as the implementing agency, the event will take place from Aug 26 to 28 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The digital pre-launch was announced by Mosti Minister Datuk Chang Lih Kang alongside Mranti chief executive officer Ashran Ghazi.
Carrying the theme "Mission to Market. Malaysia to the World," Nice 2026 aims to accelerate homegrown technologies and research and development into market-ready solutions capable of expanding regionally and globally.
Chang highlighted that the initiative supports the government's strategy to translate national scientific strengths into measurable economic and social outcomes.
He noted that Malaysia possesses the talent and technological capabilities to compete internationally, with current priorities focused on helping locally developed research scale beyond national borders.
Building on the legacy of the Malaysia Commercialisation Year initiative which supported 761 innovations and generated over RM1.14 billion in commercial revenue, Nice 2026 expands this framework to build stronger links between technology creators and the marketplace.
The three-day expo will showcase over 180 innovations and feature more than 50 thought leaders, policymakers and industry experts.
The event programme includes specialised conferences covering Advanced and Future Industries, Health Tech, Bioeconomy, Deep Tech and Commercialisation.
Attendees will also participate in business matching sessions, technology pitching, Tech Talks, podcasts and strategic networking opportunities.
Meanwhile, Ashran emphasised that the event was created to deliver value beyond a conventional technology exhibition by fostering direct paths from the laboratory to the commercial market.
He said innovation achieves true value when it reaches the market and delivers meaningful societal impact, positioning Nice 2026 as a crucial bridge for collaboration and investment.
Researchers, start-ups, technology entrepreneurs, investors, industry stakeholders, students and members of the public are invited to register for the expo through the official website at nice.mosti.gov.my.
