Quality Assessment System for Building Construction Works (QLASSIC) in Malaysia and several other neighboring countries have been done mainly in manual type of operation by using assessors/inspectors for the inspection process. There is no available integrated system in Malaysia that enables inspection work to be done for internal and external works using autonomous system. Thus, the developed system can overcome all this matter.

The conventional method for building quality assessment is by using a human inspector equipped with the assessment tools (such as tapping rod, laser leveler) for assessing the quality of either internal or external works of a building. Since the quality assessment involves seven (7) different areas of assessment for internal works, an Artificial Intelligence-based method is applied to assess three (3) areas of assessment for internal works, namely ceiling, wall and floor.

This is implemented with the use of a custom-designed mobile robot for data acquisition and processing using cameras and sensors, used for internal works. Meanwhile, external works deploys the use of drone technology for acquiring images of the roof, gutter, and other related assessment.

This solution introduces an AI-powered building quality assessment system that replaces conventional manual inspections with automated technologies. For internal assessments, a custom-designed mobile robot equipped with cameras and sensors captures and processes data to evaluate key areas such as ceilings, walls, and floors. For external assessments, drone technology is deployed to acquire high-resolution images of rooftops, gutters, and other structures. By integrating artificial intelligence and robotics, the system enhances inspection accuracy, efficiency, and safety, while significantly reducing reliance on manual labour and traditional tools.
