The Residual Oi Extractor (ROE) is an innovative technology designed to recover residual oil in the palm oil effluent (POME). The ROE uses perforated oil-adsorbing fibre sheets arranged in an inclined manner, a mechanical compressor, and an air scrubbing system to enhance oil adsorption and reduce COD of POME by up to 15%. This technilogy has a performance efficiency of 20% and has the potential to provide significant benefits to the palm oil industry.
The plam oit industry generates effluent with residual oil, posing environmental and economic issues. A solution is needed to recover the oil and reduce COD of POME.
1) Perforated Oil-adsorning Fibre Sheets
These sheets are designed to adsorb resiidual oil in the POME by creating a large surface area for oil to cling onto. The sheets are perforated to allow for easy flow of the effluent through them, while also engancing the adsorption efficiency of the sheets.
2) Mechanical Compressor
The mechanical compressor used to press and compress the fibre sheets after they have adsorbed the residual oil. This process helps to squeeze out the recovered oil from the fibre sheets and make it easier to collect.
3) Air Scrubbing System
The air scrubbing system is used to remove any remaining traces of oil or odour in the recovered oil. The system works by passing a stream of air through the oil, which removes any volatile compounds or impurities. The resulting oil is then ready for use without any further processing.
The ROE is different from other solutions on the market because of its unique design, which enhances oil adsorption nd reduce COD of POME. It offers a cost-effective and sustainable solutio for palm oil produces to recover residual oil, reducing waste and improving profitability.
