RabiLAMP Diagnostic Service

Delivers laboratory-grade molecular sensitivity and specificity directly to private veterinary clinics, mobile animal control units, and remote agricultural posts at a fraction of the time and cost of conventional PCR testing.
Sarawak faces a critical public health challenge with high numbers of animal bite and scratch cases (over 19,000 cases recorded in 2025 alone). Conventional rabies testing relies on sending samples to distant centralized laboratories, causing severe diagnostic delays when immediate, life-saving clinical decisions regarding post-exposure prophylaxis are urgently required.
An accessible, field-ready diagnostic kit and service utilizing Reverse Transcription Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (RT-LAMP) technology. The system processes raw animal samples and delivers accurate viral RNA screening results in under 60 minutes via a straightforward colorimetric visual readout (pink indicating negative, yellow indicating positive).
Features proprietary, target-specific primer sets specifically designed to match and amplify regional rabies viral strains endemic to Borneo. Because RT-LAMP operates at a single constant temperature, the assay eliminates the need for expensive, heavy thermal cycling machinery (PCR machines) or specialized laboratory infrastructure.
