Respiratory tract infections caused by viruses are a common source of cough and may last from several days to a week. The issue became more concerning during the COVID-19 pandemic, as untreated cough symptoms could worsen and affect overall respiratory health. Conventional cough syrups may not always provide a natural or well-tolerated alternative for symptom relief.

The project introduces a cough syrup formulated from pineapple extracts containing bromelain, vitamin C, minerals, and antioxidants. These natural compounds work together to help soothe cough symptoms and assist in clearing mucus from the respiratory system in a relatively short period.

The innovation lies in utilising bromelain extracted from the pineapple core in combination with other naturally occurring nutrients from pineapple. This formulation harnesses the synergistic properties of these compounds to create a plant-based cough relief solution that supports respiratory health.
