The Origami Corner Chair (OCC) offers a strong competitive advantage through its thoughtful and practical design features, including a cushioned corner backrest for proper posture, secure head and body straps, and a pommel to prevent leg entanglement. It is lightweight at only 5kg, easy to fold, and comes with a carrying bag for convenience. Its simultaneous folding and unfolding mechanism allows the backrest and seat base to collapse into a compact shape, making it highly portable and user-friendly compared to conventional, bulky corner chairs.

It offers exterior support for kids with inadequate postural control of the head, neck, and trunk and keep children’s posture channelled, so they can focus on their daily activities at home or at therapy centre.

OCC applies the simple origami folding movement to provide the advantages of portability, light, and user friendly. These Advantages departs from the known corner chair products in the market that are expensive, heavy, and too bulky. The main goal of this invention is to get each special need childrens to own a corner chair at home and encourage the involvement of parents in rehabilitation procedure at home rather than weekly one-off procedure in the hospital.

The innovation of the Origami Corner Chair (OCC) lies in its unique foldable design inspired by origami principles, offering a lightweight, portable, and user-friendly seating solution for children with special needs who require postural support. Unlike conventional corner chairs that are bulky, heavy, and costly, the OCC provides an affordable and practical alternative that can be easily used at home or in therapy centres, promoting continuous rehabilitation and greater parental involvement in the child’s therapy process.
