The Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI) has appointed Ashran Dato’ Ghazi as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Ashran, former CEO of MaGIC and Dattel Asia Group, brings extensive experience in technology, data analytics and innovation ecosystems. He has previously led initiatives to strengthen Malaysia’s startup landscape, expand international collaborations and support entrepreneurs, youth and innovators.
As CEO, he will focus on three main areas: connecting Malaysian innovators with industry, investors and the public sector; strengthening MRANTI Park as a national hub for innovation in Autonomous Technology and Life Sciences and harnessing technologies such as 5G and Artificial Intelligence to drive socio-economic growth.
Prof. Dr. Rofina Yasmin Othman, Chairperson of MRANTI, said, “His track record in building innovation ecosystems, working with data driven businesses and championing entrepreneurs is strongly aligned with MRANTI’s mandate to turn ideas into impact for the nation. We are confident that under his leadership, MRANTI will continue to strengthen Malaysia’s innovation and commercialisation pathway.”
The appointment reinforces MRANTI’s role as the nation’s central research commercialisation agency, aiming to translate research and innovation into tangible economic and societal outcomes.
