According to the National Audit Report 2018, the Emergency & Trauma Department (ETD) unable to perform its function efficiently due to increased volume of patients with limited logistics. The report also indicates that 42 to 36% of all patients received treatment in the emergency department could not be admitted within stipulated time of 4 to 6 hours. And many ETDs are unable to meet the KPI of ambulance response time within 15 minutes for Priority One Cases.Since the efficiency of ETD's delivery is vital in reducing mortality and disability rates, R&D&C in improving its delivery efficiency is of paramount importance. Thus, the development of SIMPLE (Simplified Medical Platform for Emergency), which include:a) the development of data dictionary for emergency registry and recordsb) observational study on ambulance response timec) observational study on type of event activationd) Geo-location mapping on the timing and type of event activationBased on the data collected from the activities above, strategic deployment of ambulance based on geospatial-event-time analysis can be performed to optimise the ETD's limited resources in managing emergency and trauma cases. In addition to this, based on the integration of SIMPLE and cHEART; a Personal Health Information app, the impact of having early and fast access to patient's medical records through cHEART will also be documented to improve the quality of care.
