The reverse osmosis (RO) water purification system comprises a RO system complete with RO module that produces pure water on site and channels reverse osmosis water directly to all dialysis stations via the PEX tubing c/w S/steel shackle clip and quick release connector.
The Reverse Osmosis water purification system incorporates a new design concept to maximise water usage without compromising on its quality. Typically, raw water conductivity in Malaysia is ≤ 150μs and to drain away water after a single pass through the RO membrane is wasteful. Pretreatment system consisting of 2 raw water pump c/w digital pressure control for auto start/stop features.
Standby raw water pump will enter run mode if the pump on duty tripped and notification will display on the RO screen. Sediment filter, Carbon filter and Water softener are all built in series connection after each pretreatment column will have a panel mount pressure gauge installed in front of the system for easy viewing c/w sampling valve for ease of water sampling. Water softener controller will have a detection switch to shut down RO System during dialysis to avoid high salt contact with RO Water from entering HD Machine.
Our system design tank with several capacity whereby operating pressure of Raw Water > 70 psi, Flow Velocity > 1.5 Feet Per Second was based on Jabatan Bekalan Air supply which is of WHO drinking standard. This proposed tank size is to match the RO Capacity. A reject recirculation system is installed in the RO system to recover rejected water. (SAVE WATER) The function of the recirculation system is to recover rejected water from the RO membrane and channel back to mix with the pre-treatment water inline so as to reduce and avoid bio burden. A special clamp, developed by JKS BIOMEDICAL Sdn Bhd, on the PEX Tubing at the pure water distribution loop maintains the smooth internal surface of the PEX tubing by eliminating/minimising the use of joints hence minimising biofilm formation. JKS BIOMEDICAL has pioneered the development of hygienic sampling ports for water sampling.
This is to avoid contamination or false biological assay during water sampling. Soft start and variable speed features of the RO booster pump enables optimum system pressure to be maintained to the RO membrane as well as reducing energy consumption.
This system employs 2/3/4 units of several RO membranes to produce ≥ 10 litres or more RO water to cater for 10 or more units of hemodialysis treatment machine. In addition, with JKS Biomedical’s new RO system i.e. Advance Economical Reverse Osmosis System (AEROS) which makes use of an inverter, we are able to produce RO water depending on the demand.
