Bactrogel

Environment & Biodiversity
Bioscience Technology

Bactrogel offers an innovative solution to combat fruit fly infestations threatening agriculture sectors globally. This low-cost and user-friendly insecticide provides effective protection for crops without leaving chemical residues on the peel, preserving freshness and quality. Acting as a fruit impersonator, Bactrogel lures and kills fruit flies while deterring them from crops, making it ideal for small-scale farmers and hobbyists seeking efficient pest control solutions.

BigPipes.app™

Energy
Advanced Intelligent Systems

This innovation, BigPipes.app™, is a cloud-based solution designed for pipeline reliability assessment and corrosion prediction. It uses probabilistic methods to analyse current and future corrosion data from pipeline inspections, optimising operational decisions for pipeline maintenance and extending the lifespan of infrastructure. By leveraging historical inspection pig data, the platform provides a more accurate and efficient approach to assess pipeline integrity, allowing operators to minimise downtime and maintenance costs. The mobile-friendly platform removes the need for physical assets, ensuring a secure and streamlined process for pipeline assessment through cloud computing.

Biocoating Fertilizer

Agriculture & Forestry
Bioscience Technology

The commercialisation project focuses on a slow-release coated fertilizer utilizing Bacillus subtilis and sodium alginate as the coating agent. This innovative product is designed to gradually deliver essential nutrients to crops, enhancing fertilization efficiency, reducing application frequency, and supporting sustainable agriculture. The use of Bacillus subtilis and sodium alginate provides improved effectiveness and stability compared to traditional fertilizers, making it a beneficial product for farmers and the environment.

Biomer: Agro Based Biodegradable Polymer

Agriculture & Forestry
Bioscience Technology

Malaysians produce 543,000 tonnes of waste daily and most of it will end up polluting our oceans. These wastes which is mainly plastic would take a long time to decompose which would cause further harm to the environment. A solution to this is a plant based biodegradable plastic which uses agriculture waste to produce a cheap bio plastic which can safely degrade in the environment.

Buoyancy Assembly for Decommissioning and Marine Salvage (BADAMS)

The Buoyancy Assembly for Decommissioning and Marine Salvage (BADAMS) aims to make the removal and disposal of offshore platforms economically viable. BADAMS employs modular cylindrical buoyancy devices and an Offshore Flexible Buoyancy Tank (OFBT) for floating, upending, moving, and lowering tubular jackets. This method includes in-situ upending work, non-metallic pressure-containment tanks, and reusable fastening mechanisms, enhancing cost-efficiency and flexibility. By addressing high demobilization costs and promoting sustainable practices, BADAMS offers an innovative solution for the decommissioning and salvage of offshore structures.

Carbon+N hydrogel

Bioscience Technology

The anthropogenic emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases have contributed to global warming. This issue is compounded by the limited success of carbon capture projects in effectively using and storing CO2. Furthermore, excessive nitrate usage in agriculture not only leads to nutrient run-off and water pollution but also results in the production of nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas with 300 times the global warming potential of CO2. These challenges underscore the urgent need for innovative solutions to address climate change and environmental sustainability.
